Movement Assessment
The 24-point movement screen is one of the best tools FSP uses to help improve our client’s performance. One of the focal points of this program is that it forces individuals’ limitations to be exploited so we can see where there are imbalances or restrictions. It is a great tool to use before beginning a training regimen or starting competition. We also use video analysis to watch and break-down movement from full speed so clients can actually see for themselves what can be worked on.
The movement screen separates the left and right sides of the body and begins to look at the body as a whole chain instead of one area on the body. This screen is not just for the athlete it is actually a great instrument for individuals who have limitations or peaks in their training or overall lifestyle.
Some of the benefits are:
Reduce potential for injury
Provide a simple grading system to evaluate movement
Improves performance both functional and athletic
Exploits physical imbalances or limitations
Corrects imbalances and limitations through simple corrective exercises
Allows FSP to create a better-individualized training program for better results
Allows FSP to identify current injury developments and how they relate to the prevention of non-contact injuries
Allows FSP to identify potential cause and effect relationships of micro-trauma as well chronic injuries in relation to movement asymmetries
“FSP has been a joy to work with and they did a great job at finding my weaknesses and helping me correct them." Marcelo Trekinho, professional surfer on the WQS.
